Day 6

Athens. The city looks a lot different than it did a few months ago. A few jobless people are literally camping on Syntagma square and there are no taxis to be found anywhere as they are on strike. Welcome to South Africa, I mean Athens.

It was boiling hot in Athens, such a big temperature change after Belgium. Such a nice change.

First and only stop up to the Acropolis was for a bit of shopping off course. We stood in line at the Acropolis for a little while and then entered with millions of other people. I would definitely recommend going off season, you can appreciate it much more.

Nevertheless it was still unbelievable and unreal standing there and looking at the huge structures.

It was ridiculously hot and the more we wanted to stay the more we wanted to leave to find a cool restaurant. At the bottom we purchased a few post cards and iced lemonade. Such a life saver.

We met up with Adriano a little while after lunch when he came to drop off our bon jovi tickets. It was awesome seeing him and hanging out with him for a few minutes.

Gizella's mom got us VIP tickets to the Bon Jovi concert in Athens. Dankie tannie!!!!! The tickets included pre party with open bar and lunch buffet, Bon Jovi merchandise, tour program and the best standing area in die stadium. We waited till after dark for the legends to grace us with their presence.

There's not much I can say about the show... It was simple AMAZING!!! There are no words to describe them and the evening. Bon Jovi is still gorgeous and has a body to die for, his voice is still unbelievable and his lead guitarist is brilliant!

The whole experience was unreal. We caught the last train back to Plaka and had to walk for ages before we found our hostel. I don't think I've ever been that tired and that hot in my life.
