'n Groot persentasie van die mense wat my 40ste bygewoon het ken ek al meeste van my lewe. Dis die grootste voorreg om so baie ou gesiggies en nuwe mense te hê wat die tyd gevat het om saam met my te celebrate! Verjaardae is 'n groot ding vir my, so 'n massive dankie aan almal wat dit so spesiaal vir my gemaak het!
Ek het altyd gesê dat ek wil nooit 'n normale lewe lewe nie en ek dink ek het dit accomplish so ver :)
In my 40 years I have:
- Known the love of two incredible parents
- Met the love of my life
- Learnt that I love dogs and cannot live without them (also adopted a dog)
- Had the same best friend for 37 years
- Had a wonderful job for many years
- Trekked with the gorillas in Uganda
- Hot air ballooned over the Serengeti
- Flew in a microlight over the Victoria Falls
- Travelled to 6 of the 7 continents
- Cruised on very fancy cruise ships
- Chartered a catamaran
- Bridge jumped
- Was in the back of a police van
- Gone skiing
- Went to various musical festivals (including Rock Werchter in Belgium)
- Been silent for four days at a yoga retreat
- Stayed in a traditional Japanese Hotel in Japan
- Got a degree
- Rode a camel
- Danced in public (this happens often)
- Lived in Asia for a year
- Saw pandas in China
- Learnt to scuba dive
- Tried to learn a new language (failed French, German and Portuguese)
- Rode a mechanical bull in Las Vegas, wearing my boss' clothing
- Flew first class
- Been drunk on a horse
- Got tattoos
- Shot big guns
- Drank Absinth
- Saw AeroSmith live in Moscow (accidentally and for free)
- Hunted
- Made a CD
- Kissed a Giraffe
- Walked on the Great Wall of China
- Ate real Caviar
- Started a serious vegetable garden
- Rode on a motorbike with two other people
- Danced on a bar
- Bought houses
- Started a charity
- Morgan Freeman touched my shoulder
I have however never spent the night in hospital, never changed a nappy, never used a bidet (JUST DON'T understand those things), never been arrested and never missed a flight!
Thank you to everyone who's contributed to my amazingly privileged life! I am excited for the next 40 years!
